The student organization BIS (Buddies of International Students) and the International Office organize an official Welcome Party for all new international students at the beginning of both Fall and Spring semesters. During the welcoming ceremony distinguished speakers from the university and local students greeted all newcomers.
International students learn more about ), KIMEP, student organizations, campus, what the city of Almaty, Kazakhstan and Central Asia have to offer in terms of culture and traditions, cuisine, languages, and sightseeing. Together we celebrated the start of the studies in KIMEP University with special show program from the fellow students, and offered a nice treat. The welcoming ceremony is the perfect opportunity to meet fellow international students, staff and faculty members of the university!
The first edition of the Fall 2018 Welcome Party took place on September 7, 2018 on campus where a master class for assemble of a Yurt was presented, as well as performance of the Kazakh Kurmangazy Orchestra was given.
On Friday, January 18, 2019 the Spring 2019 Welcome party took place in the New Academic Building. BIS members and students-volunteers introduced to our international exchange and non-degree students the culture of Kazakhstan and made a short intro to the cultures of Central Asian countries. Four live acts from the Kazakhstan and CIS countries students presented snacks, national food & drinks, traditional games, – all to break ice and make new friends.
