On October 25, 2019, the KIMEP University College of Humanities and Education (the CHE) hosted on the KIMEP campus a Republican Seminar entitled ”Effective teaching of Kazakh language in HEIs (from defining of learning objectives to an assessment of learning outcomes).”
The seminar was organized with the support of the Department of Higher and Post-Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The seminar provided a platform for about 50 participants from Nur-Sultan, Kostanai, Karaganda, Shymkent, Kyzylorda and Almaty universities striving to improve Kazakh language education in HEIs of Kazakhstan.
After the seminar a participant Prof. Saltanat Imankulova from the Kazakh National University observed, “The seminar gave me new ideas to use in my classroom and made a difference to my teaching style. Any teacher will benefit from such a seminar.”
Dr. Gilbert Linne, VPAA of KIMEP University, highlighted the importance of in-service teacher training and KIMEP’s commitment to quality of education: “We believe that this kind of seminar will become a good tradition where all teachers may have the opportunity to share experiences, update their theoretical knowledge and learn about new tools for teaching languages. We strongly believe that such seminars contribute to quality language education in Central Asia.”
